Clinical Pilates is a method of rehabilitative exercise designed to target and optimise the body's musculoskeletal system- in a way that is right for your body, symptoms and health goals.
Clinical Pilates uses a spring-loaded machine (reformer) and mats to challenge the body safely and effectively, always considering your personal ability, injuries and problem areas. After completing a thorough health history and musculoskeletal assessment your chiro will develop a targeted program to address your health goals. During the 1:1 session you will be carefully and slowly guided through each exercise. These movements are tailored specifically to you, working session by session to restore your overall function by improving; posture, strength, muscle efficiency, motor control, balance and stability.
Benefits of Clinical Pilates
Clinical pilates is an effective form of rehabilitation for many common injuries and conditions. Each session is individually tailored to a patient's requirements, with reassessment and progression tracking a standard inclusion of all appointments.
Sessions may comprise both mat-based and reformer pilates. Have a look at our gallery below for reference!
Due to safety and hygiene requirements, all patients are required to wear a pair of grippy socks while on the reformer. A pair of these will be provided complimentary at your first session, with additional pairs available for purchase.
Our pilates services are available for all existing patients. If you are new to reformer pilates, we recommend booking our 45-minute session first to allow a little extra time to make sure you are comfortable working with the equipment.
For those who are new to our practice, welcome! Before your first reformer appointment, you will be required to book an Initial Consultation with one of our Chiropractors for assessment. This is so we can properly assess your area of concern, and ensure we can implement a treatment plan that is right for you!
If you are still unsure, please contact us anytime via phone, text or email. Our contact details are found in the Contact Us tab at the top of your page.
Absolutely! This comes down to the difference in our clinical approach (as oppose to a class you might try at a gym). Each session includes an assessment of complaint, treatment/guided exercise and further home care advice. Induvidual rebates will be detirmined by your insurer and level of cover, you may wish to double check this before your appointment.
