Our therapist will work with patients to first assess and identify areas of myofascial tension before each session. Fundamental to our massage services is a firm attention to this, with manual manipulation of the body's soft tissues, using a combination of trigger point release, effleurage and stretching to promote a muscular release.
With increasing popularity, dry needling has become an important and beneficial therapy for patients suffering from both acute and chronic muscular complaints. Our massage therapist is trained and proficient in this technique, and will utilise this therapy as indicated.
What is Myofascial Cupping?
It is a soft tissue therapy that involves the application of decompressed cups onto the skin, which creates a vacuum effect in lifting underlying tissues (such as the fascia and muscle) as well as blood and other fluids close to the skins surface.
Most manual techniques are based on compression of the muscles and other tissues (such as deep tissue massage and joint mobilisations), whereas myofascial cupping works by producing a negative pressure and tensile stress.
